The embarrassing reason is that she has just won a competition for a meal for two at a new restaurant opening up the road, with the ambiguous name of the G-spot. When she entered she specifically asked to be let off the fly-past on ecological grounds, but it was not to be. So on Monday evening she will stroll up the hill with her companion for champagne with the mayor before heading in for a meal from a chef who is aiming for a Michelin star.
